An EPC project, the construction of an all equipment enclosed masonry building, 210 MVA 69kV-13.8kV indoor substation for PEPCO. Project is located in the North East section of Washington, D.C. Owner of the project: PEPCO Utility Company, Washington, D.C. PEPCO provided a project manager and some logistic support. I was in charge of Phase I and came onboard pre-construction and had the responsibility of coordinating the permit accusation process with the District governing bodies in concert with the Project Manager and the Engineer of Record who was the Architect on record. Under my charge was a general contractor who provided the Site Superintend.
The scope of the project was part of a North East District rebuilding effort. We were to break ground and complete the construction of an indoor 69kV-13.8kV Transmission to Distribution substation. This substation had an architectural finished front and was to be totally enclosed. The first two months was filled with meeting the Districts requirements and attending community meetings. After the initial permitting process, we completed the surveying and broke ground. Then we were able to began our below grade excavation. Next came the pile driving. Driving hours strictly enforced by District Law. Grounding, ground grid and deformed steel construction was followed by the first concrete pour and foundation work. Next came the spread footers and we were staged to install conduit and connecting vault work. The transformers and heaver equipment were located on the lower level. Plumbing, air conditioning and secondary electrical were subcontracted out to local businesses per agreement with the District following the permit requirements. All PEPCO standards and District inspections were my responsibility to oversee and enforce same.

Verify auxiliary contacts, motor drive current and close/trip coils. Adjust GMI breaker to tolerances within Siemens parameters. [i.e. 15ms arching time (correct for 50Hz) to 17ms arching for 60Hz.]
